Easter Sewing Inspiration and Ideas!
Easter Gifts to Sew!
We’ve collected together some of our favourite Easter Sewing Ideas – free tutorials and patterns from some great craft and sewing blogs. Sometimes it’s nice to do a little more than just picking an Easter egg off the supermarket shelf – have some fun and sew up some extra little Easter treats this year. These little Easter gift ideas would work really well as part of a gift (perhaps alongside some chocolate eggs!) or just as Easter decorations for your own home. Use up little scraps of fabric and enjoy getting creative this Easter!
If you are making any Easter crafts or home-sewn gifts this year, we’d love to see your work – do share your projects with us – use the tag #simplesewpatterns
Easter Crafts to Sew – Inspiration!
Sew up an Easter Chick!
We love this Felt Easter Chick – if you added some weights to him he would be great for holding down patterns too! The free tutorial and pattern can be found on Myrtle and Eunice – he’s make a great little gift to accompany a chocolate egg or perhaps sew up a little batch to the Easter decor around your home.
Felt Bunny Egg Cosy
These Felt Easter Bunny Egg Cosies couldn’t be more simple to sew. Just cut out your bunny shape, ensuring it will fit over a boiled egg and sew up the edges. Tie a little ribbon around their necks and you have a great little handmade gift for a friend or family member. Find more details from Allison over on the Cambell Soup Diary Blog.
Sew up an Easter Basket
We spotted this step by step sewing tutorial on Simply Notable – a little Easter basket is perfect as a gift (full of chocolate eggs!) or for kids to use in an egg hunt around the garden. The ties on this are particularly sweet. This pattern would work as a gift basket all year round – often it’s the way we package up a little treat that really makes a gift memorable.
Bunny Ears Pouch Tutorial
These are again super simple to make up – make them in felt or bright fabrics – the ears stick up when you tighten the drawstring – perfect for putting a couple of little foil wrapped eggs in or perhaps a cream egg! We found these at blog Probably Actually
Fabric Eggs Tutorial
We spotted these gorgeous Fabric Easter Eggs over on blog The Diary of a Quilter – they look so fresh and pretty and could be filled with lavender too! The original tutorial is by Retro Mama – here. She’s also made a basket to carry them in, this would be stunning as a centrepiece on an Easter table!
