The Wardrobe Architect’s Lottie Skirt

admin Pattern Review 0 Comments

This month I decided to make the Lottie skirt. The pattern comes with a pencil skirt and a pussy bow blouse. The pencil skirt is a classic high waisted shape with a waistband and a vent. I much prefer skirts with a waistband rather than a facing, they feel more secure. I graded up a size at the hips but other than that I made no changes and it fits really well out of the packet.

The rear vent is a nice detail. The pattern comes with a piece to turn it into a kick pleat, but I left it open as a simple vent.

I substituted the invisible zip for a centred zip, just because I was impatient to get it made and didn’t have an invisible zip!

I made this from a heavyweight denim with no stretch. I think I’ll make it from a fabric with a little more give next time so it’s more comfortable.

It was snowing when I took these photos!

Overall this is a simple, versatile skirt and an easy wardrobe staple.
